Overview
Nestled close to the Austrian border, Oberstdorf is Germany’s southernmost community and Bavaria’s second largest outside Munich.
Three quarters of Oberstdorf lies in a conservation area. The Oberstdorf-Kleinwalsertal skiing area straddles both Germany and Austria and offers 128km of runs to appeal to all levels, including Germany’s longest slope, which descends 7.5km down to the Nebelhorn valley.

Airport transfers
Airport shuttle services operate from
Memmingen and Friedrichshafen airports to Oberstdorf. Alternatively passengers can take the bus from Memmingen airport to Memmingen railway station from where trains depart to Oberstdorf (journey time approx.1h 20mins).
From
Munich airpport, take the S-Bahn into Hauptbahnhof (45 mins) then connect to the direct train to Oberstdorf.
By train
