Overview
Nestled at the Italian border, in the northern French Alps, Val Cenis is the major ski resort of the Haute Maurienne Vanoise region and an ideal destination for francophile families, groups of friends or couples looking for a natural getaway.
Bordered by Mont Cenis Lake to one side and the glaciers of the Vanoise National Park to the other, it offers good value skiing in a wild and natural setting with 125km of piste dedicated to families in a wide variety of landscapes from forest and lakeside runs to high altitude skiing and good free-ride options for those seeking more adventure.
The resort is made up of six villages, each with a distinctive personality: Val Cenis, Bramans, Sollières-Sardières, Termignon, Lanslebourg and Lanslevillard. All are inhabited year-round by friendly and welcoming locals who enjoy sharing their culture and history. The shops and restaurants also pride themselves on their local produce such as Beaufort cheese, charcuterie and excellent baguettes for the fondue.
